Foundation of Orthopedics and Complex Spine

FOCOS, founded by Dr. Boachie-Adjei, is an organization dedicated to helping the disabled and fostering international cooperation among orthopedic specialists. Dr. H.B. Calder, a BNN board member, is an active board member of FOCOS's Michigan chapter, Detroit Orthofocos. Additionally, BNN sends several neuromonitoring technologists and other resources, twice a year, to Ghana to provide neuroprotection services to patients as FOCOS undertakes 25 to 50 surgical procedures each trip. Since 2000, FOCOS and BNN have partnered together to help hundreds of patients, throughout Africa, with major spinal deformities. BNN technologists also accompany FOCOS physicians to other areas of the world, such as Barbados, several times per year to provide similar services and resources.
